Resolving Inner Conflicts for a Happier You
Parts Therapy
Have you ever found yourself torn between conflicting desires or struggling to achieve your goals due to inner conflicts? If so, you're not alone. Many of us experience these dilemmas in our lives. Here are some scenarios that might resonate with you:
-
You often feel stuck, unable to pinpoint the reason.
-
You want to make changes, but find it challenging to make a decision.
-
Despite your best efforts, you don't seem to reach your goals.
-
You feel confused, frustrated, ashamed, or even depressed when your desires remain unfulfilled.
The solution to resolving these inner conflicts lies in Parts Therapy, a highly effective hypnotic technique offered by certified and trained hypnotherapists who specialize in this approach.
What Is Parts Therapy Hypnosis? How Can It Help Me?
Parts Therapy Hypnosis facilitates a constructive dialogue between the conflicting parts within you. It creates a safe and nurturing environment for you to gain a deeper understanding of these internal conflicts and, ultimately, resolve them. By doing so, you can move forward confidently toward achieving your wants and goals.
Originating from the pioneering work of Charles Tebbetts, and based on the psychosynthesis approach developed by Roberto Assagioli, M.D., and further refined by Roy Hunter, Parts Therapy utilizes hypnosis to identify these conflicting parts that may be hindering your well-being. It then guides these parts to negotiate with one another, mediated by the therapist, in pursuit of a harmonious resolution—a synthesis of your diverse personality facets into a more unified self.
Understanding Your Inner Landscape
It's essential to recognize that having different parts of yourself with varying desires is entirely normal. However, when these inner conflicts persist, or one part seems to undermine your efforts without clear motives, seeking expert guidance becomes invaluable in shedding light on the situation and finding a resolution.
This technique operates on the premise that our personality comprises multiple parts, each representing a distinct aspect of our subconscious mind. These parts have specific roles and functions as we navigate through life's journey. Think of them as the different hats we wear in different situations. They are meant to protect and serve us, yet conflicts can arise when their roles clash.
Practical Examples of Inner Conflict
Consider these examples:
-
Your inner child yearns for an evening movie, while your inner "CPA" urges you to opt for an afternoon matinee to save money. Your conscious mind usually makes the final decision, but you're aware of the conflicting desires stemming from these two parts of yourself.
-
The part of you that seeks enjoyment might want to stay up late dancing with friends on a weeknight, while the responsible worker in you prioritizes a restful night at home for peak performance at work.
-
Many dieters grapple with the desire to shed pounds, but often succumb temporarily to the allure of junk food, then spiraling in an inner conflict of shame, blame and frustration thinking it is just about will power.
-
Smokers frequently pledge to quit but find themselves lighting up again without really understanding why, frustrated.
The Transformation Through Parts Therapy
During a Parts Therapy session, you gain insight into these conflicting desires emanating from your personality parts, all while under the guidance of hypnosis. By acknowledging and comprehending each conflicting part's roles and goals, you can work towards inner resolution.
Clients often report feeling enlightened and comforted, knowing they are being heard and can fully support themselves in a way they hadn't previously understood directly helping them to meet their desires and goals.
How Do Parts Therapy Sessions Work?
During a relaxing hypnosis session, we explore the conflicting parts within your inner mind. We delve into their motivations and reasoning, ultimately finding solutions that benefit all parts involved. The outcome is a harmonious union that propels you toward achieving your goals with greater ease and speed. These sessions offer profound insights and a sense of profound understanding, finally shedding light on the reasons behind your actions. They are both enlightening and uplifting experiences.
A Parts session consists of two appointments. In the first appointment, we discuss your conflict in detail, providing you with comprehensive information about the hypnosis process. Following this, your first hypnosis session begins. It includes techniques for body relaxation, deepening, and probing questions about your conflict. Additionally, it incorporates a "soul cleansing" process to free you from past baggage. In the second appointment, we use hypnosis to relax and to dive deep into resolving the conflict you identified with your therapist using Parts Therapy techniques.
As a rule, the two appointments that make up a Parts Therapy session are sufficient to resolve the issue. However, in some cases an additional session appointment may be required.
Please note: Parts Therapy hypnosis can be carried out both online and on site in the practice.
For these sessions I request clients be very motivated and who want to delve deeper into the background of the conflict for resolution. These sessions are not talk therapy nor CBT sessions.
How Are Parts Sessions Different Than Traditional Hypnosis Sessions?
Unlike a normal hypnosis session, where you just relax and accept suggestions, this type of session is very different. We will have an interactive conversation in which I will ask you and your parts many questions while you are under a relaxed hypnotic trance. You will be aware and conscious of everything as you find responses to the questions deep with yourself and communicate them in a format that is much like a conversation between several people who want to find a common resolution for a conflict. The therapist acts only as a mediator and guide for the conversation, not one who provides direction or suggestions.
Why Are Parts Therapy Session So Successful?
Parts Therapy is one of the most successful applications of hypnosis and client-centered therapy.
Unlike traditional hypnosis techniques that use only passive participation of the client through direct suggestions based on a pre-defined script for an identified problem. This use of hypnosis frequently does not achieve the client’s stated goals in inner conflict scenarios, which is why conventional hypnosis sessions often do not help nor have sustainable results.
Alternatively, Parts Therapy hypnosis utilizes client-defined inner conflicts and who actively participate in their custom-focused resolution.
Parts helps the client navigate and hear their inner parts involved in the inner conflict and find the optimal solution for you by identifying the causes and needs of your different parts. The results are client-focused customized solutions with the cooperation of your inner parts utilizing self-empowerment to reach your goals.
The technique of Parts Therapy:
-
assumes that each of us has many different parts within our mind and soul.
-
helps us find new, creative solutions to internal problems.
-
can help us understand the unique topography of our inner soul landscape.
-
when you feel stuck without knowing why.
-
if you want to make changes in your life.
-
if you don't reach your goal despite effort.
-
when what you want just doesn't happen.
Why Do My Parts Disagree or Sabotage Me?
You may have a strong desire to make a change, but despite your best efforts, you can't seem to succeed. Another part of your mind seems to sabotage you, leading to self-criticism, guilt, frustration, and ultimately failure to achieve your goals. Unfortunately, this conflicting part often remains hidden, making it difficult to identify and resolve. Your subconscious usually has the upper hand over your conscious mind in conflict situations. The reasons for these internal conflicts probably made sense in the past. You have evolved over time, but your internal impulses may still be running in an endless loop, possibly for many years.
